Purpose of My Writing Journey
My Why
I'm actually asked this quite a bit. Why do I do what I do every single day? The truth is quite simple. I feel storytelling is my calling. Itās my passion. It's what I love and what I was born to do. Writing isnāt just something I do; itās who I am.
I've been telling stories to my friends and family for as long as I can remember. The author giggles as she writes the next line. Well, actually, I started spinning tall tales for anyone who would listen from the moment I could talk, a few moons ago. The writer winks.
My mind is always filled with tons of ideas, different characters, and plot twists hoping to be told. And by creating different worlds, various characters, plots, and building different scenarios, I get to play pretend for a living all day, tapping into my imaginative child still inside me. I don't wanna grow up, as the old toy slogan used to say.
But the most important part to me is that I do it for my children and my grandchildren. See, I have this dream close to my heart that one of these days one of my darling grandbabies will point out a library book. With a smile on their face, they will proudly say, My nana wrote that.
Purpose of My Writing Journey: Conclusion
I may not become rich and famous, like a few of my favorites, and that's perfectly alright with me. Because as long as I can keep writing, keep creating, and entertain even a handful of readers, my dream has come true.
