The Joy of Turning My Stories into Cinematic Shorts

I love writing stories—it's my passion and my calling—but I also love transforming them into video stories. There’s something magical about turning a written scene into a mini-movie. From brainstorming fresh ideas to crafting and scripting scenes and shaping the images that dance through my mind, there’s nothing like watching every piece finally come together on screen. The entire process fills me with excitement because it’s a different kind of storytelling, one that brings my creations to life not only in my mind but in a way everyone can see.

A lot of my readers enjoy these videos, and so do many non‑readers. They get a complete short story without committing to a full book, which makes it a win‑win for everyone. Perhaps my videos will get the nonreaders more involved in books. I can always hope, right?

My latest video story is Wrong Suitcase Right Murder. Detective Toni Rodriguez is on a much‑needed vacation when she realizes she’s accidentally grabbed the wrong suitcase. Trying to return it, she discovers a ledger listing two confirmed murder victims—and several possible future ones. That discovery sends her on a whirlwind journey to uncover the truth while staying one step ahead of a killer who wants her silenced.

If you’d like to see my stories come to life on screen, I post these mini‑movies on all four of my social platforms every Thursday and Friday afternoon.
